Up and running again
I must admit that Dell’s next business day service is nice. I got my video adapter replaced today, and everything is back to normal. Let’s hope this one will last a little longer. ![]()

I was looking at an article that I believe you wrote about Fonts in Ogre.
I was hoping you might be able to help me get this working. I believe the trouble I am having is because I need to modify the tool for reading the font widths.
If you are willing to help, send me an email and I can give you more details if needed.
Thanks

Just found your blog through an incoming link
I feel your pain - I went through 2 Acer laptops in a year because of burned out video chipsets. The Acers in particular were definitely not built for actually _using_ that nicely specced chipset they were touting (only a Radeon 9000, but at the time, that was good :)). After getting the second new motherboard I sold it on, since a machine that can’t handle me actually using the GPU wasn’t any use.
I’ve since switched to a Vaio and have had no complaint, it’s much, much better built.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the sympathy, and same to you.
Actually it wasn’t that much of a pain this time, but if it happens again it will be, because then I’ll have to pay for a replacement I’m afraid. Luckily this card is separate from the motherboard, though.
